Why is opening your hips such a big deal and why do I constantly say it over and over??  Is it because I just want to bug you?  Well yes, but actually there is more than that.   Its because I want you to get the most out of your lift.  We are strongest at the very top of our hips opening.  In other words if your max back squat is 200# when you go all the way down, then I bet I could get you to back squat close to 450# if I only had you go down about 3 inches.  That is the strongest part of your whole lift and your whole body.  So when I say to open your hips up ALL THE WAY, I am wanting you to use this strong part of your movement to your advantage.  If you short the movement trying to quickly get down under the bar, then 1) you are not utilizing the most powerful part of your body, and 2) the bar will not come up high enough and you will miss it when you try to get below it.  So today while you are doing the Hang Squat Cleans, think about this.  Open those hips up as far as possible and use your hips to make that bar go up as high as possible so that you have plenty of time to pull yourself below it.  Now go get some!!!!

Complete the following:

15-12-9 reps Hang Squat Cleans (135#, 95#)

30-24-18 reps Burpees over the Bar

3-2-1 reps Rope Climbs (or 30-20-10 Chest to Bar Pull-ups)

* your first round is 15 Hang Sqt Cleans, 30 burps, 3 rope climbs, then 12-24-2, etc
