Excuses are like assholes......EVERYBODY HAS ONE! Yet so many people use them as some sort of protection. I have seen people throw out an excuse before they do something so just in case they don't do well (its because they were sick, tired, up all night, etc). But then if they do well, then they think it makes them look better because they were able to overcome whatever their excuse was. MAN, what a ton of wasted energy! What we all need to understand is that there will be things we do well and things we do bad. Its our job to do the very best we can each and everyday and be proud of ourselves for what we have done. Don't let that little voice in your head give you excuses (too big, too small, too old, too young, etc). Focus your energy into your job at hand. Take a deep breath and the only voice you should hear is GO!
