Cheat days.....this is the phrase that usually comes up when people are on some sort of diet. We are in the middle of or Paleo Challenges at both the north and south Infernos and I have seen this come up in many peoples Food Logs. The idea of the cheat day is that you are allowing your self the chance to not follow your diet regimen and eat whatever you want or whatever you are craving in the hopes that it will curb the feeling of NEEDing something bad. IE sweets, sugar, bread, etc. Even if you are going with "cheat meals" its all the same. I have had someone tell me before that they are spreading out their cheat day so they get 3 cheat meals in the week. NO!!!! When you are doing a 8, 10, 12, etc week challenge, it completely defeats the purpose to have cheat anything. Its such a short time that you wont get the full benefits of diet if you dont commit to it. Part of the learning process is to be able to tell yourself NO. Its a learning process that many of us need. So when you go to have that bad meal, ask yourself why you want it. Just because it tastes good isn't reason. And if you do fall off the wagon, then jump back on as quickly as you can!! The cleaner you are the more benefits you will see and the more correctly you can make tweaks to the diet if you need to. So stay strong!! Leave the cheats to the cheaters!!
