What is with these "every minute on the minute" workouts?? What the hell is the purpose anyways? Its a 2 fold thing: 1)workouts that have a built in rest time let you push harder because you are "allowed" to rest during the workout where on other types you arent supposed to. This rises the Intensity of the workout because you are able to work harder for longer. 2) It teaches your mind and your body to go harder. We are good at falling into the EXACT same workout time frame in our workouts. I will design workouts that are meant to be 5 minutes, or 10 minutes, or 18 minutes and the pace ends up being the same for each of them. THIS CAN NOT HAPPEN!!!! If the time frame is shorter, you should be going HARDER and FASTER! Yes it will burn more and yes it will hurt but remember that Intensity is what brings about the benefits that we are trying to get. So by doing every minute on the minute, you WILL make the time or you will just start doing moves constantly to get it done. Its much easier to stop on a workout that is a "see how long this one takes you". So get ready to get fiery today!!!
