how do you keep you mind focused when things get tough?  When you are preparing for a competition, or getting ready for an interview, or you have to perform, the mind set should be the same.  What do you do?  There are obviously many different things you could do but the main thing is to stay calm and focused on the task at hand.  Im sure you remember the football players slapping there faces and getting all crazy before they go out to play.  In all reality that works for some but as long as the slapping keeps them focused.  You will need to go into a tough WOD knowing that it will hurt and you will have to push through the pain.  You will need to talk smoothly and camly as you describe why you are the best person for the job etc.  Staying calm will allow your mind and your body to react to what happens.  By calm I dont mean sleepy or lackadaisical.  I mean loose like Bruce Lee.  He will stay loose so that his first reaction is to move where he needs to rather than being all tight and then having to relax then move then contract again to explode.  Watch his old movies.  He is calm until he strikes.  This is how you should think.  Be calm until you have to strike.  Practice this thought process in more situations and it will become the way you respond to all situations.  Today. be like Bruce!
