I read this yesterday from Ben Burgeron of CrossFit New England. He said he had 2 new rules for the gym. It was changing the praises "i should" to "i will" and "i need to", to "i get to". Think about when we use these phrases in our lives. "I should" is all about wishful thinking. You know what you need to do and you end up talking about rather than just doing it. If there is something that you should be doing, then go and do it instead of talking about it. "I need" is usually in a negative context. I need to pick up the kids. I need to eat better. I need to clean my house. Even though these things can be a pain, we are lucky to be able to have those things to deal with. There are people without kids, without, food, without homes. Be happy to have the things in your life. This is basically a mental switch to a "glass is half full rather than half empty" and positive thoughts and energy creates more positive things. Change your outlook and see if your world changes accordingly!
