Stimulus is what makes any workout important.  Yes there needs to be a reason for WHY you are doing what you are doing but the stimulus is what makes it work and what makes you able to increase your gains without tearing you down after days of workouts.  IF we were to have you do the same stuff everyday, there might be an immediate stimulus, since it isnt what you have been normally doing, but after a while the body gets used to it and the stimulus stops.  Just as if you were going to lift super heavy all the time, you will start to get sore joints and break yourself down.   But when we go light, heavy, moderate weights for short, medium and long sets then there is a difference stimulus for each.  Our bodies will react to those stimulus.  Enjoy the sensations:)
