Standards have been on everyone minds lately.  And i think this is important.  When it comes to competition, there will always be a goal of being efficient as possible because the more efficient you are, the faster you are.  However, there are standards put on our movements to ensure that our efficient movements are equal for everyone and are the full range of the motion.  If you look at the very best of the best, they only do what is absolutely needed and sometimes they will get “no repped”.  The Point of the OPEN and REGIONALS is to get the top athletes to the GAMES to see who is the fittest on the planet.  In the OPEN, because there are over 135,000 people doing the event, i can guarantee that they will be many reps that are sub par.  But its up to you do the best you can to be a straight as you can.  And up to the person who is judging you to be as straight as they can with you so that there arent any issues.  Its sad to see good athletes get bummed because of bad movements but even worse when they werent told to change them at the beginning.  We stress full range all the time, to the point of nagging you (i know it sucks sometimes), but this is because we want the most out of you and to get the most improvement in your fitness.  This isnt just for competition, its for life fitness.  You need full range or maximum movement and ability through that movement.  Strive not just to get your best times and scores but the best you can within the standards of performance.  Life is the biggest competition anyways :) FEEL THE BURN!!!
