Long term, Short term, Realistic, Non Realistic.  Goals are important in our lives because they us something to constantly shoot for, a reason to do what we are doing.  They also allow us to figure out our road map.  We cant figure out how to get there unless we know where we are going.  So is a goal like wanting to win the CrossFit Games, or get this job or that job to lofty to be a real goal?  Not at all, but you must understand that there will be many smaller, easier to achieve goals that must occur first.  Goals take work, they just don’t happen.  When you decide on your goal, you need to figure the most direct route to achieve it then get to work.  Follow your plan to the letter.  When there are things that dont workout the way the map says, then look at the map and readjust.  Dont get frustrated or give up on it.  Readjust and move forward.  You will get there!  Now go get it!!!
