Things happen to us all day long. And when they do, one of two things will ALWAYS happen: you will either REACT to it or RESPOND to it. I know we always hear about reaction being something positive, like having a quick reaction time. But a reaction is a non thought out action. Its almost involuntary. But if you think about if something happens to you and you instantly get pissed, you are involuntarily reacting. You are thinking. You arent in control. You are just blindly reacting. Your rope breaks during a workout, or someone grabs your pull up bar, you get PISSED. You cuss, you blame, you stare, you complain about it. Its all negative! Wasted energy and get NOTHING in return. But is if you RESPOND to the stimulus, then you are actively in control of your thoughts and actions. If the rope breaks or some grabs your pull bar, just go grab another one. NO need to get pissed. Just move. You will save time and energy by not getting all fired up. Be the one that is in control of your actions. Respond to your soundings!!
