How do you know which way to go if you don’t know where you are trying to get to?  You have to have a goal, a definition, an end point.  Once this is established, you can then figure out your plan to get to that end point.  This goal or end point needs to be specific and objective (you cant say you want to be happy because that’s too vague).  It takes some time to figure these things out.  They cant just be a thought on a whim because you honestly wont put the work in unless you really really really want that goal.  It must be a 100% worked on thing.  So take some time, find a quiet spot and think about what you really want.  Then decide on your path.  Make it happen!
