So you have been doing this CrossFit thing for a little now and you want to take it o the next step.  You see the CrossFit Games on TV.  Is that the next step?  No not at all!  I have always said that there is a difference between CrossFit the fitness program and CrossFit the sport.  But just because you decide you want to try a competition doesnt mean that you have to be some mega elite athlete.  the point of doing a local competition is not to "win".  Its to learn about yourself when someone else other than your trainers say 3-2-1-GO!  There was a time before you came into the gym that you were scared to death to give it a try.  This is the next step.  To do CrossFit in another place, out of your normal area.  But the cool thing is that many of these competitions are team events so you get to do it with people you know!  Its like you have your protection with you.  And dont worry about how you will do, just go in and have some fun!  There might be things you cant do very well and maybe cant do at all but who cares?  Once you do it, then you wont be scared.  The whole object of CrossFit and all the stuff you do is to be a more functional and to test your abilities.  So get out there and have some fun!!:)

.......take 15 mins to work on Toes to Bar.  Include the swing, kip, scales, and for those that are good work on max reps and/or max reps in 30 secs.  learn to do them fast

.......Do 1 rep in the first minute, 2 reps in the 2nd min, etc until you cant get the reps in the needed minute.  If you do not make it through the 10th round, then take 1 minute to rest and do 3 one minute rounds of 70% of your highest successful round.  Other than that, the object is to go UNTIL FAILURE!!
