The Olympics has the best athletes doing things they have trained years for.  When we talk about the worlds best athletes, they are known as "fringe athletes".  This, without showing ANY disrespect to these unreal athletes, mean that they are built to do just one thing, that particular sport.   A swimmer looks a certain way, a volleyball player looks a certain way, a lifter looks a certain way, a cyclist looks a certain way.  As CrossFitters, we are "fit athletes".  We want to be a generalist, not a specialist.  We want to be good at everything, not the best at one thing.  BUT even though this is true, CrossFit training has pulled some of the best sport activities out there to help us forge our fitness.  Because we do so many different things, when we watch these Olympians, can actually have a new appreciation about what they are doing!  Think about it!  Now you can watch the Oly lifters and understand just what it means to lift those weight and know just how heavy it is.  You can watch the rowers and understand their splits and just how good they are.  You can watch the gymnasts and know just how awkward the rings are.  You can watch the swimmers and appreciate just how fast they can move.  The list goes on and on!  So be proud that you have an understanding that make other watching will never know!!    GO USA!!!:) FEEL THE BURN!!!
