Whats the difference between an individual competition and an individual.  Well of course there is the obvious: the team is the whole team needs to perform and in the individual, only one person is responsible for the results.  Some will say that the pressure is different in each situation.  I hear that in the team situation the pressure is that you dont want to let down your team.  I can totally see this, however, many times i think what they are actually feeling is that they dont want to be the worst on the team, or the weak link, or the reason they dont win.  What EVERYONE on every team even needs to remember is that each person has strengths and weaknesses.  In one event, you be the absolute best at the movement, but then in the next event you might be the worst.  The result will even out.  So what needs to happen on the team is that EVERYONE, no matter what the situation, MUST SUPPORT each other through the event.  This means that should be constant support, constant fired up-ness, constant positiveness, constant protection of those that are struggling.  If there is ANYTHING other than this, then the team will NOT do very well at all.  This doesnt mean that everyone does the same amount of work.  It means everyone does their part, whatever that might be.  And if you need to switch out, then your teammates are there to catch you and swap out.  Yes people will say they might feel pressure in a team situation but i ALWAYS hear that team events are WAY more fun as well.  So get in there and have some fun the next time you do a team thing.  :)
