GOOD LUCK ADAM PETERSON AT THE CASCADE CLASSIC THIS WEEKEND!!!! What does it mean to be a competitor?  If you do a competition are yo a competitor? If you are a competitor, then what does that even mean?  How should your training change?  Well it all depends.   I dont think you need to do ANYTHING different if you want to try a competition every once in a while.  Now if you are looking to qualify for a major competition (this would be RX in a big comp or for Regionals, etc) then yes you need to make some changes.  Not because that what everyone is doing, but because what you will be required to do is above what the normal group of studly people will be doing.  But if yo would like to complete, you need to determine where you are and how far you would like to go in your comps.  I have to admit, that i see so many people doing multiple workouts regularly.  But what you dont see are people spending time on things they arent good at.  For example, if you want to compete at the higher levels but are missing a bunch of gymnastic moves, then why are you wasting anymore time on more metcons.  You will need to get these things down!  Again, im not saying that you have to have every movement before you do a local competition, but its really important to figure out where you are, where you are going and then what you need to do to get there:)
