I have a very strong talent of bugging people at times.  Not that i am a pest or anything like that (at least i havent been told that yet lol) but i have this tendency that when someone tells me something they think we should do, i should do, they should do, etc, my response to them is usually "why?".  I can see how it would bother someone.  its like that little kids that will constantly ask "why" whenever you say anything and you find yourself going further into this weird rabbit hole trying to actually answer it haha!  When i ask why, its not me trying to irritate them.  Its me trying to put the idea on the table and look at it fully.  Many times when someone does something, they dont really understand the true "why" they are doing it.  They do it because someone else does it so if they do it they will get the same results.  Not always true.  Take our warm up.  Why do we do the same old version of the warm up every single day?  I have been told we should change it up.  i have been told that when they go to this gym or that gym, they do this other one and its a "fun" warm up.  Ours is boring.  HAHAwell let me give you the "why" so that you know the exact reason.  Our warm up has a few things that are needed for both the trainer and the member.  First, for the member, its the one time you can truly concentrate on your movement and body positioning before you get all "wod-drunk" and tired.  These are reps that should be perfect form.  Second, for our members that have been sitting all day long, they will need to start slow into movements before trying to do anything at speed.  And third, if they hit all of the movements then they will have hit every single movement we would be doing in the workout that day.  For the trainer, it allows us to see how you are moving, if you are hurt, if you are off balanced, if we need to modify or adjust something for you, if your pain is because of how your body is presenting, if we can fix it before the workout, if you and any other issues that we need to be aware of to help you get the best workout.  Sure it can be boring, but remember WHY you are doing it.  You are trying, and hopefully want, to perfect your movement.  This is WHY we do this warm up at the INFERNOs.  This doesnt mean there arent good ones out there, but unless someone can tell me why we should do it instead of ours (other than its boring lol) then you will still see it.  If you ever want to ask me "why" or your other coaches "why"  ask them!  You honestly should be asking this question all the time for things you do yourself.  And then make sure you have good answers:)
