One of the things that I have learned from a very young age is to always set the bar, for whatever I’m doing, very high. This idea of high standard, hard work, never giving up etc. came from my dad (which its his birthday today so HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!!). In fact, half the time I’m saying my coaching lines to you guys, I hear my dad’s voice coming out of my mouth. Yesterday, I was asked why the weights were so heavy on a short workout. I was told it was too heavy. I was told that it would make them go to slow. Was I being unrealistic about the workout? The answer to that is no. Was the RX weight heavy? Yes. If you decided to go RX would it make the workout extremely difficult? Yes. but the reason I made the work out the way it was is the same reason I make every workout: we program for the best in scale and modify for the rest. That is how Crossfit programming is supposed to be done. And with an upbringing of high expectations and setting the bar high, that will always be what we do here. so you can thank my dad for that one! Oh, and happy birthday to this man’s best friend too!
