im by far the sappiest Rocky fan of all time.  I can watch any of the movies (including Rocky Balboa but minus Rocky5) at anytime and over and over and over.  i will instantly start to tear up during the training parts or the fight scenes and it happens literally every single time.  I think what i love about them is the underdog story.  take someone that isnt supposed to win and they stay in the game with heart and beat someone that should, by all accounts, crush him.  this underdog persona comes up when rocky is a bum, cheap rated boxer, where rocky was a guy that had all kinds of bad things happen in his world, where rocky was a ego filled, soft fighter, where rocky was a too small fighter against a giant, and where rocky was a too old has been.  In every movie, Rocky was able to beat the odds with heart.  he was scared, even freaked out.  But no matter how hard things got, he stayed in the game.  He would take hits so that he could get his hits.  He would take hits and keep pushing forward. He would get knocked down and keep getting back up.  He would have EVERYthing stacked against him and he would keep moving forward.  Not cocky, not brash.  Just wanted to keep going and wouldnt let anything stop him.  I dont get teary eyed because its a sad movie but it is an emotional release.  its a reminder to never give up, and more importantly, to not give up on myself...no matter what is happening.  No need to be cocky, loud, or brash.  Just not let anything stop me...........anyone have a tissue?:)
