Self Confidence is something that MANY people lack.  But I feel its because they think they have to be the BEST to "deserve" to be confident.  This isn't the case.  Confidence doesn't come from being the best. It comes from understanding you and your abilities.  We get so caught up in feeling that others are better than we are, or that we are going to make a fool of our self, or just wondering what others think about us or how we do.  You have to push that crap out of your head ASAP!!!  Those are thoughts that have NOTHING to do with anything and are things that you have ZERO control over.  You have to make it so that you are ONLY thinking about your performance and what you are able to do.  Other people, other performances, other's comments, etc, mean ZERO.  When you are able to block out all of that noise, then you can concentrate on YOU.  Once you are focused on yourself, then you can start to learn about you and what your true abilities are.  Let's say you are entering a competition that has a movement you aren't good at.  Can you be confident in the competition?  YES!.......as long as you are looking at the right stuff.  Can you be confident you will win the comp?  Probably not.  Can you be confident you will win the event that has the shitty movment?  Probably not.  But again, you dont have an ounce of control over any of these.  Can you be confident that you will leave it all out on the floor?  Can you be confident that you will not get frustrated during the event that has the bad movement?  Can you be confident that you will do your best from start to finish?  YES!!!  You have total control over these.  So be confident!  Learn you and what you can do, then when you get the opportunity to do it, just do the best YOU you can!!! :)
