How many times have you been embarrassed?  Do you remember the first time?  My youngest daughter is about 2.5 years old.  She taught herself to be potty trained literally in a day and by herself.  However, there is still the occasional accident that happens.  We were at gymnastics the other day and, even though she went to the bathroom before class, she had an accident.  She crushed her skills during the class, and then like to play for a few minutes after class with the toys.  All of a sudden, she looked up at me saying she had to go to the bathroom.  By the time I grabbed her up, she already soaked the floor.  I rushed her down to the bathroom but by then she didn't have to go anymore.  She told me "Sorry daddy."  She seemed a little bummed but didn't seem embarrassed but I know that those feelings can and probably will change very soon.  Have you ever thought about why you feel embarrassed?  It all comes from how YOU think OTHERS will think of YOU.  Have you ever tripped while walking at school or at work and when you hit the ground you immediately jump up and act like nothing happened?  WHY?  Because you don't want others to think you are a clutz?  Or that they might point an laugh at you for some reason?  Sure it sucks to trip but who cares?  In my daughter's case, she knows that having wet clothes and having pee run down your leg just sucks but who cares if anyone has an issue it?  Even for me, sure no one wants to see a kid pee all over the place but it happens.  I cleaned it up, wiped her off, and carried her out naked and dry.  You should not base what you do or how you do ever on what others will, or might, think.  You do what you need to do when you need to do it.  If you trip up, it's all good.  You do your re-assessment and move on, or just get up, dust yourself off, and move forward.  I hope I can help her to never be embarrassed:)
