No matter what your personal beliefs are about Thanksgiving, or the history of, one thing is true:  we NEED to give Thanks and be more Thankful than we are.  We all have been given so much in our life. Sure, it would be nice to have more of this or that, but there will ALWAYS be someone that has less than we do.  So instead of constantly looking to what we don't have, we need to move the energies to be thankful for what we do have.  Maybe you aren't a fan of your job, but at least you have one. There are others that don't.  Maybe you are embarrassed by where you live.  I can promise you there are people that are looking for a place to sleep for tonight...anywhere.  Maybe you don't have the body you want, you cant do Fran as fast as you want, or you don't have the Back Squat you want, but there are many, many, many that are way worse than you.  Yeah, I know that saying there is always someone worse off than you may seem like a cop-out.  But it really is true.  I'm sure you can think of your friends or people you know right now, and figure out who has less than you.  Here's a trick that I have used and it seems to work:  The more you want something, the more you wish you had this or that, then the more you need to be thankful for the things you have.  Think about them, go down your list.  What would your world be like if you didn't have it/them?  Probably way worse.  But by really focusing on gratitude, it really does put your brain in a MUCH better position to do what it needs to do.  When you aren't working under the fear or the pressure of "I need to have...", then you are more prepared and able to actually go and get it.  So, as you sit there drinking your morning coffee today, really think about all those things you are Thankful for.  I'll be here for awhile thinking about mine!!   :)
