When i look back on my career choices, they seem to be all over the place: wrestling coach, high school teacher, lifeguard, dad, fireman, gym owner, commentator.  As i changed from each position, it felt like i was making a BIG change in my world.  The steps seemed to be virtually miles apart.  This was what it appeared like as the choices were made.  When i look back now, i can see that they were ALL very connected.  The common thread between all of them was i was a coach/teacher person that wanted to help people become better.  The coach, teacher and dad roles are obvious, but as a lifeguard i did the physical training for the guards as well as designed the lifeguard academy to turn out prepared guards around the county.  As the fireman, i trained new firefighters in lifesaving and rescue skills, designed rescue courses to give firefighter more advanced techniques, and coordinated fitness programs to help make the firefighters ready to respond.  Currently, the gym owner job has me designing workouts and setting up an environment to help as many people as possible to increase their health and fitness and the commentator helps those at home understand why the greats of our sport are able to do what, and how, they are doing.  If i look back, all the choices seem to line right up.  The point of this is that each time i felt like i was making an unknown leap of faith to something, i had no idea how it was going to turn out.  I made the choice because i believed it was the best choice.  But its impossible to know if it was the right or not.  The honest truth is that it IS the right choice.  And its right because its what i believed was the right thing to do at that time, and living in that choice has shaped me to the person i am currntly which will help me make the next choice.  If there needs to be adjusting or modifying, then the next choice will show that.  When you look bad at it, it will all make sense.  But while you are in it, have faith in yourself, faith in your choices, and KNOW that whatever choice you make, it WILL be the right one and then you just go from there.  Dont look back or think "what if", just make the choice and GO!. :)
