I listened to a podcast the other day about how the next big thing is "changing brain states" training.  The key point was that there are a few things we know have properties of relaxation, less stress, less anxiety, more productivity, etc.  Some of the ways to achieve these things would be by drug use (not recommended but it does work.  It just has many other side effects that mess you up other ways.), surfing, meditation or heavy extended yoga, being heavily involved with creating art (music, painting, sculpture, etc), or very intense exercise.  All of these things will change your current mental state.  When you change your mental state there is a chemical change in your brain.  This chemical change makes you feel better, sleep better, feel happier, allows you to more able to handle the daily stresses of life better.  Well guess what, you get the chance to do this EVERY DAY you are at the gym.  Its been proven that when you workout hard, you are more relaxed after, you can study and retain information better, you respond and react to situations in a more calm, and less emotional, fashion.  What a bargin!!!  Not only wil you look better, but you will feel better, you will respond better, and be happier.  HOw can you say no to that??  and it only takes 1 hour of your day.  Talk about bang for your buck!:)
