I saw this video yesterday on social media.  It was about David Wottle who raced the 800m in the 1972 Olympics.  The year before the trials, he wasnt even a ranked runner in the US.  He wasnt supposed to qualify to make it to the Olympics.  He had 2 bad knees.  He got married before the Olympics.  He was used to letting the group go ahead but in the 800 there are only 2 laps.  In the finals, he had the entire field at least 15 meters ahead of him.  He didnt get alarmed by it.  He ran his own race.  He focused on what HIM.  Coming around the final turn he started passing people and at the VERY last moment was able to put his chest across the finish line as the Olympic champ!!  What i love about this whole thing is that i really doesnt matter how you start.  Its all about how you can do your thing, and not stop.  Its about not letting down on yourself.  Its about believing in you and what you do.  Its not being afraid to follow your path no matter what everyone else is doing.  This isnt a sport thing. this is a life thing.  There will be all kinds of people that will tell you how to do, what to do, when to do and why to do.  But if it doesnt line up with what you want and what you believe to be right then you NEED to be able to push outside of your view.  These other people are trying to help but no one other than you is in your shoes.  You are the one that will have to live and die with your plan so go out your way.  Your plan, your life!! :)
