I didn't get to say congrats to the INFERNITES that were competing over the weekend.  I couldn't have been more proud of how they represented themselves, their families and the gym. Now, I know the season is long.  The demands of a competitor; needing to work on weaknesses, get stronger, get faster, having to be ready for the open, perform for 5 weeks of the open, try to keep their fitness up during it and after while they get ready for the regionals and finally only doing regional workouts up to the day of regional competition.  A competitor is not looking for fitness.  they are looking for a competitive edge.  They are looking for ways to win during a competition.  Period.  Many people think they want to be a competitor.  They want to experience the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat (well mostly the thrill of victory lol).  But they really don't understand the amount of work it takes.  I'm not even talking about just being an individual.  Its even if you want to be on a team.  The demands are so high!  I do need to say that when I'm talking about competitive CrossFit, I'm not talking about local competitions.  I call local competitions activities.  You don't need to train for them. You can usually just hop in and do well if you already workout regularly.  If you watched our athletes train this year, they were putting in many hours and so much time!  For some, it all pays off and they are sitting on the podium.  For others, the results are different but the demands are still the same.  We all want to win but this is not the case in life.  There will be winners and losers.  This isn't a bad thing though.  It's just what it is. It's life.  Because of this, you need to make sure you are into whatever it is you are competing.  Or, as the old saying goes, enjoy the journey.  And I mean more of the journey of life!  If you lost, guess what, it won't be the last time you loose.  But, you have to be able to learn from it and move forward.  This is the journey.  To constantly improve!  Now, even if you dont want to be a competitor, you still want to get better.  Improvement and progress are ALWAYS positive.  This is the real goal of life: to continually better yourself everyday!  Congrats INFERNITES!! :)
