I saw this post yesterday that said: "the low man on the totem pole has no way to go but up".  The author was talking about surrounding yourself with people better than yourself.  This doesn't mean that you only pick people that are better than one thing than you.  It's about surrounding yourself with great people because there will always be things to learn, there will always be things you can improve on, and there will always be things people can do that will elevate your drive, ambition, or standards.  Most of us have probably heard this type of thing when we were younger and hanging out with some "shady" friends.  Most of us also probably learned the hard way that they werent the best people to hang around, not because they were bad people or any other stereotypically reason.  But, because no relationship should be "all give" or "all take."  It might be kind of a weird question but what do you get from the people you hang out with?  What do you give to the people you hang out with?  Are yo the top dog in all aspects?  Do you keep them around you just because they make you feel like some sort of champion?  This is the "big fish in little pond" syndrome.  Or do you hang on to some one or a group like a littl brother hangs on to the big brother because they are cool, popular, etc, but really dont have anything to bring to the table?  We all have things we can offer so make sure you give to the relationship too.  Surround yourself with greatness and that greatness will bleed onto you!!  :)
