"It is what it is."  My brother laughs that I say this all the time.  At times it can sound like a little bit of a cop out but it really isn't.  It all has to do with the things that are in your control.  As much as I'm a control freak, I can't control everything around me.  I used to fight against this non-stop.  But as I grew older and had some things happen in my life, I realized that the ONLY things I can control are the things that I do: my actions, my reactions, and responses, my feelings, how hard I work. how hard I push, how much I give.  All the other stuff out there, even if it is things that are happening with me (sickness, injury, weakness, lack of a skill, etc) I can't do anything about it at the time.  So I need to acknowledge that it IS WHAT IT IS and not put any more energy into worrying about it, fighting it, or trying to change it.  My job is to work around those things, or rather navigate through them while emphasizing all my energy on the things that I have control over.  I need to attack these things with everything I have because it is truly the ONLY thing that I have a say in.  So no matter what comes up, realize that IT IS WHAT IT IS, and grind on forward!!!. :)
