While at the CrossFit Games this past weekend, I saw a ton of amazing feats of athleticism.  I saw Cody Anderson, a kid that weighs about 175#, run through a Clean ladder where he needed to hit 350 for two reps at the after doing 14 increasingly heavy reps.  I saw the newly crowned champ Matt Fraser, hammer through a thruster and double under set round after round and not slow down at all.  I saw a battle between two Aussie women that was so fierce that it brought thousands of spectators in a capacity filled Coliseum to their feet as the win was determined by a dive to the finish.  The thing that amazed me most was seeing the athletes fight and grind through things that were difficult.  Not just showing the pain or discomfort on their faces but literally doing everything in their power to perform to the absolute top of their ability.  BUT I also saw so of the best athletes in the world, compete to just be ok, to just enjoy the experience, or fight to "hang on", or fight for second place.  I didn't understand that at all.  I think many people don't understand that you can compete and be ferocious at the same time.  I'm talking about having HEART.  I'm talking about giving your ALL.  Not your all as if you were by yourself in a room somewhere.  Be rather out there shoulder to shoulder with others like you were wringing water out of a washcloth.  Squeezing and grinding to get every bit of power, energy, fight out of you.  If you are in the competition, aren't you there to compete?  This means you should be giving everything you have.  Yes, there is a strategy, and you should have a plan.  But there are always times when you just have to put your head down and do work.  I mean you should want to open it up and GO FOR IT!!!  This doesn't mean that it's all about the result of the push.  Yes, we all want to win.  But whats more important is that fight.  The fight gets the absolute most out of your body and mind.  You may be in fight lace, you may be in last place.  You may be completely healthy, or you may be injured.  But it's about you giving what you have and leaving it out there.  It's about no regrets and it's about fighting until you are done.  Be a fighter!  Fight for YOU!!!:)
