When the INFERNO was started, we called it "TEAM".  It wasn't because we wanted to come up with a warm fuzzy community word, even though it kinda is.  It was inspired by my time with the sports I did all the way up through my time wrestling at Cal Poly.  On these different teams, we would have a myriad of different types of people all put together in very strenuous and uncomfortable situations.  We would sweat together, bleed together, crush each other and lift each other up, support each other and have each other's back.  The crazy thing was that without the team, there is no way these groups of people would come together and be so tight.  It took the opportunity of crushing each other and playing together so hard to make it something great.  I think this is the same community feel for the general CrossFit gym.  Everyone sweats and then goes to have a beer afterward.  But then what about pride in your team.  The feelings you have about being part of a particular team?  Have you ever been on a really good team?  How do you feel when you talk to other people on other teams?  It feels pretty good huh!  The great thing about this is that you don't even need to be the top person on the team.  If you are associated with the team, then you get the same proud feelings.  There will ALWAYS some teams that are better than others.  And guess what.....you ARE on one of the better teams! You not only have the community, but you have the pride.  There are people that don't want to come to our gym.  Its because its hard.  Its because the workouts are too difficult.  Its because they hear that we push you too much.  Its because they are afraid.  But those of you that are here, how do you feel when you say you are part of the INFERNO TEAM?  I hope you say it with your chest held high.  I hope you say it realizing that for all those that don't want to be on our team, there are others all over the world that DO!  You have a coveted spot with us.  But here's the great thing.....we don't exclude anyone from joining.  If you want to be part of our team, then all you have to do is BE part of our team.  The door is WIDE open!!!  And for those that are already here, we are glad you are here.  YOU make this team GREAT!!!:)
