Starting new habits are so hard.  Mostly because they end up being things we aren't excited about.  We realize that if we could change "this" habit for "that" habit, then our life would be better, our job would be better, our relationship would be better, our workout would be better, our health would be better, our weight would be better.....you get the point.  There will be a conscious discussion that happens in your head, with your VERY clever and tricky brain, in which your brain will try to sidetrack you or get you to stop whatever it is you are doing.  Think about that voice when you are in a workout.  How many times does your head give you a justification to stop?  The voice happens to everyone!  I have had this conversation before, " wow I'm tired.  I really need to be careful because I might hurt my back if I push it too hard.  Oh wow, I think I just felt my back.  I think I need to stop."  I mean how hard is it to keep going when YOU are telling yourself this????  One of the habits I'm working on in my workouts is that I don't want to stop at all during the last minute of the workout.  I know I am hurting bad and I know I have been in the heated debate with my head to stop but no matter what I want to keep going then.  The nice thing about this is that the light at the end of the tunnel is right there.  As I get better with this, then I can move it to 2 minutes, and then further from there.  The reason I want this is that if I know I can finish strong then I will always have the confidence that I will finish strong in anything that I do.  I will be programmed to do that.  If you feel the same type of desire for this in your life, then you need to start working on it.  Use our workout every day to test that final minute.  See how long it takes you to be able to do this every workout. Then see if you have that skill translate to other realms of your life.  I bet you will!:)
