Everyone wants to feel better and look better and that's why they decide to workout. What MANY seem to forget is that you have to actually do it. trainers can talk nutrition. they can talk movement. They can talk workouts. they can talk high intensity. they can talk hear rate monitors. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. You can lead a person to health and fitness but you can't make them do anything and get fit. The coach and the program is the door and you have to step through it. Now as you know I'm not a fan of "at least I'm doing something." I don't think that "anything" cuts it. It comes down to what you are doing as compared to your abilities. If you don't do anything other than lay on the couch for years, then a very minimal amount of work will do wonders. Change the diet to some clean food and move and there will be dramatic changes. But once you are able to get past that point, then you need more. You need to increase the intensity of your workouts. You need to go faster or heavier (all good movement of course). You need to start to hone your diet. If you don't do these things, then you WILL be better than those on the couch, but not near being healthy. If you DO, then you creep up the health and fitness ladder. The more you are doing Varied Functional Movements done at HIGH Intensity and are eating lean meats, vegetables, some fruit, little starch, no dairy or grains, then you WILL be healthier and more fit. The more healthy and fit you are because of this nutrition and training, the less medical issues you will have. Sure we want to look good, but that shouldn't be the goal. It's the by-product. If your body is ship shape and you can move large loads long distances quickly, and you are pretty good at any task, don't you think you would look good? I mean how could you not? We don't want to make you look like a badass. We want to help MAKE you a badass! :)
