I have seen people succeed under some incredible pressure situations. I have been lucky enough to have had some success under some of these heavy pressure situations.  But the older I get and the more I see, people will perform better when the pressure isn't hindering them....meaning its NOT on them.  Sure if you are in a competition, then there is built in pressure with the event and the competition itself.  But when it gets bad is when WE put extra pressure on us.  Pressures of what others will think, what if someone does better than us, what will people think about me if I do or don't do this.  The ONLY thing that you should be thinking about is the task at hand and for you to do your best.  The Olympics have had tons of these stories.  If you watched any of the Super G Slalom, Erica Ledecka, a snowboard champ from the Czech Republic, stunned the world by beating out the reigning champion and the biggest names in the sport by winning the gold medal by .01 !  Her plan was just to go out and ski.  She didn't have the expectation to win.  She just wanted to race the ski event in the Olympics since she is the only person to compete in both ski and snowboarding events in the same Olympics.  So how did she do it?  There really isn't anything magical.  She wasn't worried or stressed about having to win or to beat anyone.  She just went out to race and with no pressure on her, she was able to perform to her maximum ability.  No one wants to lose or to do bad, but we can't let those feelings become more important than the actual performance.  What WE need to put our energies onto is ONLY what we can control.  The other stuff, all of it, is out of our control.  So don't waste any time or energy on it.  The quest is to do this with EVERYTHING, every day, and then you can truly enjoy all your activitites and your performances!:)

FEEL THE BURN!!
