There are so many things out there that can piss us off on a regular, and almost minute to minute, basis.  People seem to generally only have about 1/3 of a brain, say really crazy statements, are bad drivers, and then you get a paper cut out of nowhere, you smash your little toe into the bed frame, etc.  I could go on and on and on.  We can't control any of these things.  Sometimes things just happen.  But the ONE thing we can control is how we respond to it.  We CHOOSE to give our energy to it or not.  And by giving energy I mean by getting upset and having it derail our forward momentum.  NO matter how bad it is, the only way it can affect us is if we CHOOSE to let it affect us.  Believe me, I totally know that this is easier said than done.  It's very easy to say to blow this off or blow that off until you are confronted with a shitty situation and then you are challenged to either give into it or keep the energy to yourself.  How do you normally respond?  Do you get pissed?  Do you get scared?  Do you get worried?  Do you think the worst?  Do you expect it to be bad?  Do you get excited?  Do you anxious?  Or can you let it happen and then try to respond without being an emotional wreck.  When you get confronted with a situation where you can get upset, you need to first acknowledge that its happening, understand that it can set you off, then take a deep breath and continue as needed.  If there is something you need to do right them, then don't let yourself be mad about it. Just blunt your emotions and do whatever it is you need to do.  You need to put yourself on auto-pilot and complete the tasks needed.  If there isn't anything to do, then simply let it go.  Sure it might be something crappy but if there isn't anything you can do about it, then you have ZERO options but to let it go.  So save your energies for something you can truly put them to.  This formula does work and it works in ALL situations.  Doesn't matter if it's real life or if it's gym workout stuff.  You have to see your energy and emotions as valuable possessions and you wouldn't give it to just anyone or anything.  So don't!!  Be very picky about it!  :)
