We know we are creatures of habit.  We know that once something works, we want to keep it that way because if it "ain't broke then don't fix it".  We know that change is one of those things that scare us probably more than most.  And we know that humans, as well as most creatures, fight for homeostasis or equilibrium immediately in almost every situation.  But even though we know this, we also know that once we reach equilibrium, or the point of no movement, no increase or decrease, that this is when we change the least.  And no change means NO GROWTH.  One of the reasons CrossFit works so well is that it's constantly changing the stimulus of the workout on you.  And when there is change and your body is trying to adapt to it, it's doing just that......changing.  Once it becomes routine and your normal, then your body will have become so efficient that change just won't occur.  Life is the same way.  I'm not saying you need to throw yourself into oblivion every week (I can promise you I don't want that stress lol) but you can make changes in your world.  One of the changes that always feels like a positive is learning something new.  Trying something different.  This way you can control the situation a bit more and you aren't scared or freaked out.  It's just you allowing yourself to be exposed to some new things that you want to try out or add to your skill set.  Even though this is a controlled setting, it is actually prepping you for when things change and you have to adapt when it's things you don't like.  The better you get at adapting to the environment, the faster you will be able to do it next time, and the more tools you have in your arsenal to use.  Make it a point to change something, or add something, or even take something out of your world every day.  Force yourself to be in a relaxed state of flux.  When you arent all cemented down and rigid, it will be so much easier to be light, airy, and adaptable!  :)
