There will be things that happen.  Things that people say and things that people do that are REALLY messed up.  They may say they are sorry, but the fact is that it happened.  And now you are sitting here with your feelings hurt, bummed, or just planned pissed off.  It is so easy to get mad.  Mad at them for being so stupid.  Mad at the situation for it even happening. Mad at whatever.  But what does it do?  Does it make the situation any better?  Does it make you feel better?  Does it fix the situation?  Nope.  Not even a little bit.  So instead of letting it ruin everything you have going on you have to change where your brain goes.  I'm not saying you will be able to forget about it or act like nothing happened but you can do something else to let go of those feelings.  Maybe it's watching a movie, maybe it's going on a walk, maybe it's doing some work.  It's not about suppressing and shoving the feeling down deep inside.  It's about releasing those feelings completely and then filling the space with something else.  Take your mind off what happened.  I'm not saying this is easy.  But I'm saying its necessary.  Don't waste your energy or your happiness on something that is out of your control.  You can NEVER control what others do, so don't try.  You can only control how you respond to it.  Take control of that.  Be smart about it and protect yourself.  Take a deep breath and go watch Incredibles 2! :)
