The magic with CrossFit has ALWAYS been the fact that you use INTENSITY to gain the most benefits possible. But, there is a difference between "training days" and "competition days" and when you should use each. The point of training days is to improve your movement, improve your capacity, improve your confidence during a workout, improve your understanding of where your limits are. Competition days are for laying it all out on the floor so that when you get to the end, you have nothing left to give. Now we all know you to push yourself hard when you are in the gym. But will you know the difference between when you in "training mode" or "competition mode"? Most won't know the difference between when the day is training type day or a competition day. But the workouts we design change the level of intensity and this will manually adjust your ability to go completely HAM or just work your way through the workout. Please remember that intensity doesn't mean hard. A workout may be "hard" but you are sitting there resting between your reps because the weight is heavy or you have hit the muscular fatigue walls. Generally speaking these, and EMOMS are mostly your training type workouts. The ones that you can do with little rest, can move pretty much through the event whether its a sprint or not, are going to be your competition events. The purpose of me designing the workouts this way is that I don't want to grind your body into the ground. Yes, I want you to use the intensity to your advantage but not so that it breaks your body to pieces. If you are training for a competition, then yes you need to be able to make sure you can do the extra workouts etc, but generally speaking its more important for you to get the desired stimulus from the workout given. Why am I saying all this? Because I want you to know that I am thinking about you and your bodies all the time. I want to work YOUR ready state. I want you to get your gains and your benefits but keep the longevity within our walls. I want you to be able to compete in any event and do well. I want you to be FIT!! I got your back:)
