I was doing one of my seminars this past weekend and had an amazing group in attendance.  At the beginning of the class, I always go through an introduction of everyone, how long they have been doing CrossFit and what they are hoping to get out of the class.  I get many of the same responses: recovery, programming, how to keep up with the youngsters, and how to keep feeling ok as they get older.  One of the activities we do during the day is a workout.  Depending on the class it will be either a preset workout and/or one that they class designs.  Anyways, there was a woman who said during the introduction that she wanted to figure out how she can get better at working out and start to feel good again.  During the workout, she got really down on herself and even said that she didn't deserve to be there in the class with the other "athletes".  I was bummed that she felt this way.  She was letting the idea of EVERYONE else, just being there, cloud what she was doing for herself.  She was losing the whole reason she was there.  We all do things like workout, diet, take a class or something that WE want to do for us.  We may have been a little nervous about signing up but we were still excited.  Excited because we were on the precipice of doing something for ourselves that going to make us better.  This is one of the most important things we can do for yourself.  Because its so important we can NOT care about anyone else being there, or what they MIGHT think, or what they ARE saying, or anything.  Can't even let our thoughts go away from our head any further than the actual task. If we do then we are losing precious opportunities for ourselves.  Take every opportunity to make yourself better and pull everything you can from it.  You ALWAYS deserve to be there and to do whatever it is you are doing.  You deserve to be the best version of you.  No one should ever have the power to take that from you!  :)
