There is a difference between adjusting your mindset and suppressing your feelings.  There are times to feel mad, sad, pissed off or grief.  But there is a PROBLEM if all you do is want to wallow in this state for a long period of time.  You are VERY allowed to feel these things but give yourself a time to go through it, and then get yourself out of it.  Once you get to a place where you aren't worrying about all the variables and stuff around you, and you honestly don't care about them or the people talking about them, then you are getting to where you really want to be.   You are releasing them rather than just pushing them down inside you.  They don't cause any stress or concern for you.  This change has to come at the front end of the issues though, not the back end.  This means that if you still get pissed when you hear what people say or see what they do, then you haven't changed anything about how you are really feeling.  Maybe you don't scream outwardly, but inside you are still just as pissed!  You have adjusted your reactions but you are still be affected by it.  Since you aren't doing anything about it, then it's like sweeping problems under the rug until there is a giant lump.  This will eventually be a MASSIVE problem.  But if you can have someone say some pretty nasty shit to you and not be affected, or you aren't pretending to NOT be mad, then you have gotten to the point where you can release those things.  It's here where you get to take control of your world.  You aren't weighed down by other peoples crap, others people comments, or other peoples responses.  I'm by no means perfect but have been able to come a long way!  I still think MOST people on the road are the worst drivers.  My daughters will tell you that I think everyone is a BONEHEAD (mostly because they are haha)! But now I recognize when I don't give glaring look at someone, or yell at them, or get all fired up.  I just blow it off, or I'll laugh it off, and then I forget about it.  I will save that energy for the things i really need it for.  Sometimes I wonder if I have become soft for not being as fiery as I used to be.  Then I remember what I got out of it before and what I get out of having more control now.  I pick the current state of Yoda-ness! Plus it doesn't rot my insides!!  :)
