The GREATEST thing that allows a creature to survive is FLEXIBILITY. I’m not talking “downward dog” flexibility.  I mean the ability to adjust when unexpected things happen, to not get hung up when they do and to make the “new path” BE the path.  Change is inevitable. And though we are creatures of habit, we need to be able to change things up as random things happen. Sure you can plan for the worst and hope for the best but who REALLY does that? No one. And because of that, you need to be able to be ok when things either change direction or even when they go bad.  I'm in no way saying I have mastered this but I practice all the time!  This weekend I had a seminar in Pasco Washington.  I was supposed to get in at 11:45pm the night before.  Then my flight was delayed to 12:45 am, then 1:45 am, and then was delayed until 1:45 PM.  My seminar started at 9am!  I would have been 5 hours late!  Obviously, I couldn't have this.  There were the initial feelings of being pissed off but that didn't solve any problems or make anything better.  I hit up the owner of the gym, Shane,  to give him a heads up and then I started working on fixing the issues.  I looked for other flights as my customer service person also looked.  I looked into driving there (it would have been 16 hours from Denver), trains, other airlines.  I was able to get another flight that took me from Denver where I was stranded to Seattle to Pasco.  It would get me in at 1030am.  So I'd be late but not nearly as late as before.  I messaged Shane and told him that I could start the seminar at 11 and we would go to 6 instead of 5, and we won't stop for lunch and to have the attendees go get lunch stuff when they show up and they can do a workout before I get there.  By the time this was all set, it was 330am.  The next flight boarded at 5:30.  So I laid there in the airport waiting for the sun to come up.  I made it to the seminar, and since I was able to keep my head over the night, and into the seminar, I was able to get right to work and not feel like I "messed" up.  The seminar went great!  The attendees were stoked and it all worked out.  This kind of response to the problem will help me to make it through all the things I have going on in my world.  It will work in all your areas too. But the only way you will get through it is just to be flexible and calm, then do it. Make the switch and go. And be ALL-IN when you go! :)
