GREEN GRASS

GREEN GRASS

“The grass is always greener” is a very real statement but should be very bothersome to most. I think when most say it now they understand that it means that constantly looking around doesn’t mean its a good thing. But even with this, I see people CONSTANTLY looking for the next shiny object or whatever the new thing is. I know that when Crossfit came out, the first thing many in the fitness world would say is that its a fad. It was the “new shiny” thing. But if you really looked at it and understood it, you’ll see it wasn’t new at all. Way back before the bodybuilder days, people would work out more like this than curls and tricep kickbacks. The thing is that CrossFit works and works so well that EVERYONE now does their “own” version of it……but will be DAMNED to call it CrossFit. The basis of Crossfit is using your whole body to generate the most power output possible. This means that you use your body to more work faster. The better you do the more fit and healthier you are. There is a rising trend in the gym scene that harkens back to the bodybuilding days: the idea of accessory lifts or single joint isolated muscle movements. Is there a place for this? Sure. But this is NOT what will get you more fitness or healthier. Sure it can help you to get a better PR or give you better stability in some lifts, but in reality, the only people that should be doing these are serious competitors or people that have a MASSIVE deficiency in a movement. Accessory work is NOT a fitness program. It’s something in addition to your program. But you can’t tell me it’s more important than the core part of your fitness program. I have been around this fitness game for a long time. I have seen all the things out there. Sure there are some really good and some really bad things, but you have to be able to understand the WHY of them to determine if it is worth it or not. Bodybuilding makes you look good but doesn’t make you good. Crossfit, and especially INFERNO Crossfit will make you a badass as well as really being one. It might not always be flashy, it might always be fun and games, but it DOES work. And until I see something better, I’ll keep putting this out to you. The INFERNO’s goal is to make you the best you can be. Its what we do and we do it REALLY well!:)
